About » PAC

The PAC has joined forces with Wal-Mart Canada and Canadian Packaging magazine to showcase the Canadian sustainable packaging movement through the Sustainable Packaging Leadership Awards -recognizing and honoring some of Canada's packaging industry leaders that compete with the best-in-class on a global scale daily.

The comptetition was structured to recognize companies that have demonstrated sustainable packaging leadership in line with the concept of systems thinking.

One of the many key things we have learned is that sustainable packaging is a very complex subject, requiring a holistic approach and systematic processes. We have learned that sustainable packaging thinking begins with the embryonic image in the right frontal lobe of the designer's brain. We have also learned the wisdom of not rushing to judgement when making sustainable packaging choices and decisions. Instead we have learned that it is not plastic versus paper, and that there is no silver bullet when it comes to packaging sustainability.
